In the past few years, disputes at the workplace have exploded with several high-profile cases and increased public awareness. Our goal is to guide our clients through the tumultuous waters of employment and labor disputes. Our approach focuses on helping our client implement the best practices to avoid employment disputes and to swiftly dispose of any disputes that do arise.

During his time at a preeminent national law firm, Mr. Ion successfully defended and pursued claims involving the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), claims arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act (discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin), Title IX claims, and the Illinois Human Rights Act (IHRA). Mr. Ion has successfully defended numerous cases before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR), the Chicago Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and in both state and federal court. Mr. Ion has also guided large companies in successfully negotiating collective bargaining agreements (CBA), and in drafting various employment contracts and non-compete agreements.

Mr. Ion has also worked in-house for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, investigating internal discrimination claims, accommodations, and other related matters. Mr. Ion also defended the University in employment and admission discrimination claims that were filed externally with federal agencies.
